Paulet Island & Brown Bluff - Antarctica
The Ocean Notes (daily newsletter) onboard our expedition ship noted the following about Paulet Island. "During the Swedish Antarctic Expedition, led by Otto Nomdenskjold, two groups of men were marooned. A party of three spent the winter of 1903 at Hope Bay; while a crew of 20 (and the ship's cat) did so on Paulet Island."
Brown Bluff is one of the few spots you can get ashore on the Antarctic peninsula proper on the Weddell Sea side of the peninsula, and this was our one opportunity to be able to set foot on the continent of Antarctica. It did not disappoint.
Gentoo Penguin eggs are all white in colour, which is much different than the colour of Adelie Penguin eggs (see other photos in this album).
